Auditing Industry Practices

Coordinated, documented review of how freight is actually priced, brokered, and paid.

A Brief Explanation

Auditing means looking at what is actually happening across many loads, many brokers, and many states, rather than arguing from one bad experience.

What We Audit
  • Transparency request outcomes and refusal rates.
  • Patterns in hidden margins and undisclosed spreads.
  • Contract terms that attempt to waive, restrict, discourage, or interfere with access to broker transaction records. Whether a particular waiver is enforceable under current law may depend on the agreement and applicable law. AFFTRA proposes to make the broker's disclosure obligation expressly non-waivable.
  • Detention, payment timing, and other practices that quietly move cost onto carriers.
The Goal

Not to attack the industry, but to describe it accurately. Accurate description is what makes reform specific, credible, and hard to dismiss.
