McCown Co. LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("McCown Co.," "we," "us," or "our"), respects the privacy of members, visitors, and everyone who submits information to us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account and membership information such as name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, state, congressional district, company or carrier name, USDOT or MC number when voluntarily provided, and login credentials.
Payment information processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
Submitted case documents and complaint materials such as rate confirmations, broker transaction records, correspondence, screenshots, and complaint narratives.
Communications including emails, contact-form submissions, support requests, and survey or feedback responses.
Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring page, and general location inferred from IP address.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and administer memberships, process payments, and provide member access.
Provide education, research, published reports, and member resources.
Document and review reported industry practices and refer credible patterns for appropriate regulatory, legislative, or legal review.
Coordinate lawful complaints, advocacy campaigns, and legislative outreach.
Respond to questions, requests, and correction or dispute submissions.
Send membership, account, and organizational communications.
Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Submitted Case Documents

If a member submits rate confirmations, broker transaction records, complaint materials, screenshots, correspondence, or other case documents, McCown Co. may store, review, redact, aggregate, and analyze those materials for educational, compliance, regulatory, legislative, and legal purposes.

Identifying information or unredacted documents will not be publicly released without authorization except where disclosure is required by law. Materials may be shared with service providers, counsel, regulators, or lawmakers when reasonably necessary for the purpose for which they were submitted.

Please submit only materials you have lawful authority to share, and redact information that is not relevant to the matter you are reporting.

4. When We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

Service providers. Payment processing, hosting, email delivery, analytics, customer support, and similar vendors who act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
Counsel. Attorneys retained by or working with McCown Co. in connection with legal research, compliance review, or selected legal efforts.
Regulators. Agencies such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration when a complaint or credible matter is referred for review.
Lawmakers. Elected state and federal lawmakers and their staff in connection with legislative outreach, generally in aggregated or de-identified form unless the submitter authorizes otherwise.
Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, court order, or valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of McCown Co., our members, or the public.
Business transitions. In connection with a reorganization or transfer of organizational assets, subject to this Policy.

5. Text Messages and Telephone Numbers

Providing a telephone number for account, membership, complaint, or contact purposes does not automatically enroll a person in promotional text messages.

Recurring informational or promotional text messages are sent only to individuals who separately opt in through an optional, unchecked consent box. The opt-in states:

I agree to receive recurring informational and promotional text messages from McCown Co. LLC at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of purchasing a membership. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help.

You may withdraw text consent at any time by replying STOP to any message or by contacting info@afftra.org. We may still send transactional messages related to your account, payment, or a request you initiated.

6. Email Preferences

Members receive administrative and membership emails related to their account, billing, and access. Advocacy, education, and campaign emails include an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out of those at any time without affecting your membership or account emails.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the member portal, and understand how the website is used. Analytics providers may collect aggregated usage information such as pages viewed and time on page. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, though blocking some cookies may limit member portal functionality. We honor browser-level opt-out signals where required by applicable law.

8. Data Retention

We retain account and membership records for as long as the membership is active and afterward for the period reasonably necessary to satisfy accounting, tax, audit, and legal obligations. Submitted case documents may be retained longer when they are part of an ongoing regulatory, legislative, or legal review, or when they have been aggregated or de-identified for research and reporting. When retention is no longer required, records are deleted or de-identified.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transmission, access controls, and limited internal access to submitted documents. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

10. Member Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information in your account or submissions.
Delete your account information, subject to records we must retain for legal, accounting, or ongoing-matter purposes.
Withdraw submitted documents from future use by contacting us. Withdrawal applies going forward and may not be possible where materials have already been submitted to a regulator, lawmaker, or court, or where they have been aggregated or de-identified in a way that cannot be reversed.
Opt out of advocacy emails and text messages as described above.

11. Children's Privacy

Membership requires a minimum age of 18. This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information to us should contact info@afftra.org.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The website links to third-party resources such as government agencies, regulatory databases, payment processors, and news sources. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Review the privacy policy of any third-party site before providing information to it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revision date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated to members through the website or by email. Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
