David McCown is a Missouri based commercial driver, trucking advocate, and the founder and president of McCown Co. LLC. He earned his CDL in 2014 and has worked across flatbed, step deck, tanker, hopper, Conestoga, oversized freight, construction materials, steel, liquid fertilizer, shingles, agricultural products, and general freight.

He entered the industry without accepting its exploitation as normal. He began asking why drivers were expected to work without enforceable wage standards, why carriers were pressured to haul freight below sustainable operating costs, and why so much of the money and information surrounding a load remained hidden.
Those questions became a mission. David founded McCown Co. LLC, created McCownUSA, and authored the American Fair Freight Transportation Reform Act (AFFTRA) to bring company drivers, owner operators, small carriers, industry veterans, and working families together behind federal reform.
His purpose is straightforward: put people before profits, restore integrity to trucking, and put the pro back in professional trucking.
