Kenneth Kelly, known throughout the trucking community as Ken Dude, has been driving for approximately 39 years.
Join the MovementHe started in 1988 as a company driver operating a flatbed bobtail and delivering building materials for homes. As licensing requirements changed, he obtained his CDL and continued building his career.
In 1997, Ken purchased his first truck through the Freightliner First Time Buyers Program with only $999 down. That opportunity allowed a hardworking driver to become a business owner, something that has become increasingly difficult for today's drivers to accomplish.
Ken has witnessed the transformation of trucking from an industry where discipline and hard work could produce ownership into one where rising costs, falling rates, hidden information, and financial pressure can destroy a small carrier before it ever gets established.
He joined McCownUSA and AFFTRA because he wants the next generation of professional drivers to have the same opportunity to build a business, support a family, and create a future that trucking once gave him.
