How to File With the NCCDB

The NCCDB is the FMCSA's complaint system. Filing there puts your experience into the federal record where it can be reviewed and where patterns across many carriers become visible.

• Gather your documentation first, using the checklist in Step 2.
• Go to the National Consumer Complaint Database at nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov.
• Choose to report a complaint and select the broker category.
• Enter the broker's legal name and USDOT number.
• Describe the issue specifically: refusal to provide the record of transaction under 49 CFR 371.3.
• Attach your proof, then submit and save your confirmation number.

Keep your confirmation number with your documentation. Then report the case to your McCown Co. State Representative so it counts toward the nationwide review.

A complaint is a report for agency review and does not, by itself, establish that a legal violation occurred.

FMCSA's National Consumer Complaint Database currently accepts property-broker complaints from drivers and other industry participants.
